Why EVE is awesome (Offline mode)

Since going to College (University for the non-Americans) I have been really busy with my studies, friends, and other R.L. events and because grades come first I have had to take a hiatus from EVE. No more solo PVP or roams with friends. :( It kind of sucks, but until Summer it is how it is going to be. The great thing about EVE though, is even if you don't log in you can still be immersed in the game through all of its outlets. Reddit.com, blog posts, the eve site itself, youtube.com, etc all fulfill all my EVE needs when I am out of game. I can watch the latest happenings in game, learn about the most current loadouts, fleet doctrines, FW battles, epic kills, and changes to the game without ever logging in. The community of this game is awesome. I can now see why there are so many lurkers for this game that never end up actually signing up, just because of the entertainment value and sheer volume of content. Just today I discovered a cool website called www.fleet-up.com and messed around there for a while. A fantastic tool developed for corporations by a player. So even though I can't dedicate time to logging in every day (or never logging off :3 ), I can take 10 minutes a day to check out the latest and greatest of EVE online and look forward to the day I return. Can't wait.

New people!

For all the people who might have stumbled upon my blog, or clicked on the link in the eve forums, my name is BCninja and I am the mascot for the corporation Imperial Outlaws. As mascot I feel it is my responsibility to tell you all about how awesome a time I have had in this corporation, so here is a little background:
From day one I was getting "o/"s and "o7"s in chat and was meeting all of my new corp mates, it was a warm embrace. Almity (our current fearless leader in pvp) and I talked on comms for a while and figured out what I want to do with my eve future and talked what Fleet Warfare was like. The corp jump freighter moved all of my assets to our home system in Egghelende and the rest is history.
Along the way I have met some of our corporation's allies and have made good friends with many of the players. Networking in fleet warfare is particularly easy, as everyone has the same goal: kill the enemy militia at all costs. Finding someone to fly with has been no problem since I joined and we fly in fleets at least two to three times a week (at minimum). The pvp has been awesome and I have learned so much from just talking with my highly skilled and experienced corp mates.
While my stats on the kill board haven't gotten much better (I blew up one too many hookbills), I have learned much from my time in Imperial Outlaws, made many new friends, and have killed many things. I highly suggest anyone wanting to make oodles of money and kill many things to join Imperial Outlaws! At the very least join our "Imperial Outlaws Public" chat channel in game

We will be announcing our mascot soon! However, my suggestion of a desecrated corpse of a Minmatar pilot did not pass by our P.R. department. My next suggestion: A belligerent beluga! http://imgur.com/tUPdx

Good night, and good luck.

First Post, please ignore

Through indirect and really non-existent peer-pressures I have decided to start my very own fail blog about EVE. So here we go:

My journey through eve thus far has been a very fortunate one. I have been grouped with some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable space pilots in EVE Faction Warfare who have helped shape who I have become as a pilot. Starting with a short stint in Fweddit, getting confused, joining a smaller Faction Warfare corporation that sort of disbanded and finally merged with the corporation Imperial Outlaws. While there I have met very intelligent, kind, and deadly members such as Almity, Shalee, Daisha, Ryven, Zarnak, Joni (slightly less deadly :P), and anyone else who has I have flown with from I.Law since joining three months previous.

Over the last three months I have begun my journey to become a solo and small gang pvper and so far it has held mixed results. I have learned so many things from so many people that I have developed some really good and some really bad habits. Starting with the bad and working our way up:

  1. I feel a very strong urge to put shiny modules onto very expensive ships and give Almity minor heart attacks. I am slowly getting over this habit due to my complete lack of isk. I can attribute this habbit to  TMFED's very own RTS Avalanche.
  2. Spending isk I don't have. I don't really know how this started happening but I find myself with so little isk that repairing cruiser sized modules becomes difficult. I can safely attribute this one to the learning curve in pvp (losing a ton of ships) and RTS.
On to the good habits:
  1. I always approach a situation with caution, checking my dscan, checking local numbers, and having a prior knowledge of what sort of back up can arrive. I have learned a lot of this from flying around with various members of I.Law and TMFED.
  2. Be quick on the D-scan! Gotta catch those afk, speed tanking minmatar alts off guard.
  3. Don't be stupid, don't lose your ships needlessly, don't ruin the kill board, and don't engage on a lone interceptor with a gang of SFIs in the next system over. Almity has drilled this one into me.
Hopefully with the upcoming Winter Patch I will be able to keep funding my pvp life style, enjoy the new cruisers, and keep throwing down with these imperial fools. Thanks to I.Law for being awesome and I hope to be with them for another 3 months as well.

TL;DR - I suck at PVP thank you everyone for trying to make me better I learned some stuff... and now I am the resident space bum of an awesome corp called I.Law.

Good night, and good luck,
-BCninja
